INFO REGARDING COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)

We are excited to announce a partnership with Festivee to bring our festival online in a safe and fun way for all to enjoy!  More details to come very soon!

UPDATED: 04/09/2020

DEKALB, IL, Breaking Fate Entertainment is sad to announced that they are suspending all non-streaming, in person events effective immediately through May 2020 in light of the new “Stay at Home” order issued today by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker due to the growing threat of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 Laugh or Die Comedy Fest live event will be canceled. We will be processing a refund of all ticket sales no later than April 15th. In effort to still bring these great comedy films to public view, we are exploring ways (possibly a LIVE Youtube feed) to exhibit our 2020 film selections, with the approval of filmmakers followed by the announcement of awards in the same LIVE feed. We will be in touch with each filmmaker and comedian individually over the next few days to discuss personal involvement in online festival. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this crisis that is obviously out of anyone’s control.

UPDATED: 03/20/2020

We at Breaking Fate Entertainment have been getting a number of messages regarding our upcoming events the Visually Odd Con (April 18th) and the Laugh Or Die Comedy Fest (April 25th), wanting to know if the events have or will be canceled in light of the new press release from the local DeKalb County Health Department. At this time, both events are more than a month away and still being planned as scheduled. However, we will continue to monitor the local and national recommendations as these events get closer to see how the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) crisis progresses. We are committed to making sure that these decisions will not be made last minute. In the mean time we do wish to encourage everyone to take all preventative actions as recommended by CDC and WHO.

Additionally, during this time numerous independent filmmakers and artists of all kinds are facing huge financial crisis. With most being freelancers, they will see no financial support from the government. So, as you spend more time at home away from the public over the next weeks, please consider watching some indie films on Amazon, commission a painting of your pet from an independent artist, purchase an independent band's latest music or enjoy a local comedian's youtube series. Then share that you did so on social media and encourage others to check them out as well. These things will help out the many individuals who live to entertain you greatly.

Thank you ~ Willy Adkins, Breaking Fate Entertainment
